Exercise

Below are 4 articles on the film CRASH.  Each represents a distinctly different perspective on the film.

First notice the title of the journals and magazines in which the articles are published.  Then click on the links and browse through the articles. Now match the articles with the brief descriptions below.  You do not need to read the entire article to do this.  Just skim the articles.  Many articles include a sentence or two on the author.  You can also visit the journal's homepage on the web.  You should be able to make this kind of broad determination fairly quickly.  It's important to be able to determine the perspective of a particular article in order to select the articles that will be of most value to your research.

B.  Scholarly discussion of racism in films about Los Angeles and where Crash fits in that genre by a U.C. Davis English professor writing in a scholarly American Film journal

C.  A review of the film published in a blog dedicated to films

D. A review of the film in an American Catholic general interest public affairs magazine
