How to report on topics

from sustaining our Earth

to sustaining ourselves

The following periodicals are good places for getting a big picture on the latest science topics. For primary literature, notice what scientists these articles quote or reference, then try doing an author search with their names in databases listed under the Databases tab.

New Scientist
SCU Library Journal Finder > New Scientist > LexisNexis Academic > Choose "Natural Language" for a Google-like search. Can limit by date. Can limit by section: click "Show" > Section > Choose "HLead" or "Subject" to make sure your search terms are the focus of the article.

New York Times Science Times
Each Tuesday, the New York Times publishes its Science Times section--filled with science news from biology and astrophysics to environment and health, stories big and small. Also check Science topics index.

Science News
SCU Library Journal Finder > Journal Finder > Science News > Academic Search Elite > "Search Within This Publication" link.
