COMM 149B: Science News

How to report on topics

from sustaining our Earth

to sustaining ourselves

"If you're curious about the world and how things work, science writing can put you in the middle of the action. Learn how to identify science and health news, report on the important participants and research, and show audiences why science should matter to them. This course welcomes both humanities and science majors to explore news developments and their underlying research, as well as identify the social, ethical and legal issues raised by science. Students will analyze other work and write their own."
