Search Strategies for Normed Sets

Search Strategies for normed image sets in three different databases.

APA PsycInfo

Search 1

line 1: "picture sets" or "stimulus lists" or "stimulus sets" or "normed pictures" or "pictorial stimuli" (subject terms)
line 2: norms or normed (select a field)
line 3: face* or image* (select a field)

You could modify line 3 for the different categories like dogs, birds, etc.


Search 2 - a broader search

line 1: "picture sets" or "stimulus lists" or "stimulus sets" or "normed pictures" or "pictorial stimuli" (Subject terms)
line 2: norms or normed (select a field)


PubMed

Basic Search: ("picture sets" or "stimulus lists" or "stimulus sets" or "pictorial stimuli") and (norms or normed)

Then add category of images you want to search (ex: birds, dogs)

 

Google Scholar

Search 1 - advanced search

-with all of the words: normed
-with at least one of the words: "picture sets" "stimulus lists" "stimulus sets" "pictorial stimuli"

Once you run the search, then add birds, dogs, dance movements, etc. to the search box

Search 2: a broader search

- exact phrase: "normed stimuli" 
- with at least one of the words: cars automobiles
