Quick Links

Citing Your Sources

  • For your paper, you should use the Chicago Style to cite your sources.

  • Many short online guides are available to teach you how to create your list of references and how to do footnotes within your paper. They are usually enough for your needs.  Here's one of the best known.

  • For the footnotes, your instructor is recommending the following style sheet with examples for all types of resources.

                http://history.hanover.edu/courses/handouts/footnotes.htm

  • If you want to cite something in a format that is not covered in the quick online guide, use the complete Chicago Manual of Style available to you electronically.  Just click on the book on the right.
