Below are links to the State Department resources I think are of widest interest to country research. But, feel free to explore more on the main State Department page. There's a lot under each of those items in the top blue band.
Annual report submitted to Congress on "...U.S. efforts to promote democracy and human rights in nondemocratic countries and countries undergoing democratic transitions worldwide." (P. L. 110-53) Links to the four most recent reports are here.
This is the main web page for AID. You will find links here to reports, news, financials. The most useful will probably be those listed under PUBLIC AFFAIRS and OUR WORK in the blue band at the top.
This is where you will find information on current hot button issues from the State Department's perspective. These can be countries, like Pakistan or Haiti, as well as issues like Piracy or Energy Security.
