This video illustrates three ways to finding the full-text of an article in PubMed.

  1. Instant full-text through the SCU Library
  2. Free full-text through PubMed Central
  3. Request article through interlibrary loan

 If an article is not freely available, you can request for it through the interlibrary loan department at Santa Clara University.

Using filters in PubMed can be very helpful. If you have a specific topic or have special criteria, use the filter section to help narrow down your search.

  1. To create an account, go to PubMed.
  2. Click "Log in" in the top right-hand corner. 
  3. Chose "New here? Sign up."
  4. Click "Create New NCBI Account."
  5. Complete required fields and Sign Up.
  6. You will receive an email with confirmation link that you need to click before you can begin saving searches.

To sign up for an account, select "Create a new NCBI Account".
