The MLA Handbook is published by the Modern Language Association. MLA style is the most commonly used to cite sources within the language arts, cultural studies, and other humanities disciplines. The 9th edition of the MLA Handbook was published in 2021 provides a clarification for citing a film/DVD. The format for both in-text citation and Works Cited citations is the same as the 8th edition.

The Purdue OWL site for MLA is a great step by step walkthrough guide. On the left side is the main menu. Just look for the type of item you want to cite. (For example: "books" or "article"). The column on the right side will walk you through how to cite that item and give you an example. Just plug the information into the formula.
Remember the difference between in-text citations and endnote (or footnote) citations.
