How to Find More Books

The books above are just a sample of what we have.

Use OSCAR to find more books available at Santa Clara University. Some books are located in the Main Stacks on the Lower Level of the library. Other books are in the Automated Retrieval System (ARS). Be sure to check the location in OSCAR.

Enter keywords describing your topic.  For example:

African American* and history

Slave Narratives

Slavery and Women and United States

Note:  an asterisk at the end of word, for example slave*, will pick up different endings such as slave, slaves, slavery.

If you want to find books that include primary sources or documents, just add these keywords to your search.  For example:

African American* and history and sources

Interlibrary Loan

If you search OSCAR for a paticular title and find out that Santa Clara doesn't own the book you are interested in, you can use:

LINK+, a service which allows students and faculty to borrow materials from member libraries at several other colleges and public libraries, provided that those materials are not available at the SCU libraries.  Books borrowed through LINK+ should be available within 3 days.
