The first place to start when searching an unfamiliar database is the "HELP" function--usually a choice on the home page of any database. Additionally, these tutorials and self-paced online training modules offer additional assistance:

EBSCO Tutorials (for any database provided by EBSCO)
Check out the "EBSCOhost Tutorials." Basic Searching: Academic Libraries (5 min. video) is a good place to begin. Databases provided by EBSCOhost include: Academic Search Elite, Business Source Complete, America: History and Life, etc.
LexisNexis Academic (video tutorials)
Help is also available on both the "Easy Search" page and the "Power Search" page. This database includes U.S. and international legal cases.
