Below is a list of suggested library databases you might use to research your topic.
Step 1: Identify possible subject or disciplinary areas of your topic. For example, you might select a multidisciplinary database, women & gender studies, and a religious studies database. It's a good idea to search in several, because different databases cover different topics or perspectives.
Step 2: Identify your keywords. Watch the short video to the left for tips. Distill your topic into the most essential concepts, don't use sentences to search (it's not like Google). Stuck? Ask Melanie for help.
Step 3: As you're searching in a database, note the language of the authors. That will give you new ways to search for your topic. For example, you might search on "religious views" but find that "spirituality" is used more often by scholars.
