Step 1: Use the tools in the boxes above to find one physical source and one digital source for your research topic. If you find a print book, go get it from the shelves (ask your librarian for help if you need it!). If you find a digital source, make sure you download the PDF.
Step 2: Add your sources to this board in separate posts, titled with your name. Include the title of the source, its format or type (print book, e-book, journal article, etc.), and where you found it.
Step 3: Done early? Find and save more sources for your topic or help your neighbor with their research.
Step 1: Choose one of your sources to evaluate, then find a partner for this activity.
Step 2: Based on the criteria from the tutorial and class discussion, discuss the credibility of your source with your partner. How and why did you decide your source was credible or not? What strategies were most helpful in your evaluation? Add a comment summarizing your discussion underneath your source.
Step 3: Based on the BEAM framework, discuss what role this source could have in your paper. In other words, how could it be relevant to your research, and why? (background, exhibits/evidence, argument, method/theory) Add another comment summarizing your discussion underneath your source.
