Alternate Resources for Community Patrons

At this time the SCU Library is not able to provide access to our materials and online resources to members of the community. The following resources are alternate options for community members. Please note: Due to the fluid nature of the COVID-19 crisis, the availability of services listed may change.

SCU Reference Services

While our librarians remain available via our 24/7 Ask a Librarian service, access to our materials and online resources is not possible at this time.

Local Libraries

The Santa Clara City Library District now offers lobby access for holds pick up as well as computer lab services.

Government documents

While many federal depository libraries in the Bay Area remain closed due to COVID-19, the California State Library offers email reference services and in-person appointments. More information can be found at https://www.library.ca.gov/government-publications/federal-depository.

Archives and Special Collections

Archives & Special Collections is only taking research appointments from SCU students, staff, and faculty at this time. Department staff continue to service requests from external researchers via phone, email, and other digital technologies. Contact the Reading Room (408-554-5530,  specialcollections@scu.edu) with research inquiries and we will respond as soon as possible.

WiFi

The City of Santa Clara’s Free Wi-Fi covers most outdoor areas of the city and is completely free. More information can be found at http://santaclarafreewifi.com/.

The Santa Clara County Library District has expanded their Wi-Fi coverage.

Computer access, printing and copy services

The FedEx Office Print and Ship Center at 2125 El Camino Real has two computer workstations available for rental, as well as printing and copy services. More information can be found at https://local.fedex.com/en-us/ca/santa-clara/office-0288/
