ENGL 1A: Critical Thinking and Writing (Stone)

To find books on your topic: 

1. Go to OSCAR, the library catalog:

2. Enter keywords describing your topic.  For example: 

• film AND horror 
• cinema AND horror

3. REMINDER: Always check the locations of the books in OSCAR.  Some books are located in the ARS (Automated Retrieval System) and you need to request them, while some are in the stacks on the first floor of the library by call number.  

To find physical books in the SCU Library  

Step 2: Locate a Title to discover the location in the library and the call number with this information you can go to the library and pick up the book from the bookshelf! 

Step 3: If you select the title of the book on the next page you will see REQUEST THIS TITLE . By requesting the title, one of our staff will pull the book from the shelf and will hold it for you at the Library's help desk. You will be notified when the book is ready for pick up.
