Encyclopedias of Authors and Their Works
The following reference books are excellent sources to use for starting your research on American women writers of color. They provide an overview of the author's life and work and often include a summary of the most significant critical responses to those works over time.

It is an excellent source to find information about the lives and works of American women writers of color.

It includes information on authors who may not be included in the literary encyclopedias listed above.
