Join artist and activist Nancy “Pili” Hernandez for a talk on February 18. Nancy will discuss her work mobilizing art and communities to fight for vibrant and just environments. Nancy’s activism spans the environment, education, and immigration, using art as a tool to fight injustice, raise awareness, and empower communities. Nancy will share the role of art in resisting injustice and practical strategies for organizing for change for a better world.
Nancy “Pili” Hernandez (born 1980) is an Irish Chicana interdisciplinary artist and activist. Her art frequently focuses on climate injustices, particularly water pollution, and is often displayed in murals, including many that are co created with other muralists, youth groups, and community members. Nancy’s artwork is informed by her commitments to promote climate policy changes and spread awareness about climate change, build community, and provide Latino community resources.
