SCU Library will host events related to How Information Worlds Shape Our Response to Climate Change. We invite you to join us! Read below for details.
In February 2024, SCU participated in “How Information Worlds Shape Our Response to Climate Change,” a study conducted by the non-profit research institute Project Information Literacy (PIL). This survey gathered responses from currently enrolled college students and members of the American public across the country to investigate “how their encounters with climate change news and information—and the behaviors that manage those encounters—shape Americans’ disparate responses to the worldwide climate crisis.”
Join us for an evening of learning and reflection where we’ll dive into the results of this study, consider its implications, and identify opportunities for action. Steven Geofrey, Senior Researcher in Information Design at PIL, will share major takeaways from the study, followed by discussion from SCU sustainability leaders about the significance of its findings for campus and community. Q&A and refreshments will follow.
Date: Wednesday, 10/16 at 5:00 pm in the St. Clare Room or Zoom webinar (60 mins)
Followed by a reception at 6:00 pm
