HIST 11A/12A: Slavery and Unfreedom (Gudgeirsson): Find Books

Course research guide for HIST 11A/12A (Dr. Gudgeirsson), originally created by Anna Yang.

How to Find E-Books

It might be useful to also look for ebooks if you are not on campus or would prefer to only find books online. This is the easiest way to filter your search to ebooks only.

  1. Go to the library home page (www.scu.edu/library).
  2. Click on the "Books" tab on the search bar (I would recommend using the advanced search as well)

For example: slave narratives

You can tailor this search more broadly or more narrowly, depending on what search terms you use and how you link them together with AND / OR

Take a look at the filters on the right side of the search results, you can click on the "ebook" filter to just look at ebook results of your search.

How to Find Books

Our library catalog shows the library's collection of print and electronic books, journals and other resources. If you find something that fits your topic and it is listed as location "ARS" you will just request that book to be pulled for you.  It will be delivered to the front desk and you will be notified.
