ETHN 5: Introduction to the Study of Race and Ethnicity in the United States (Fernandez)

This guide support students in ETHN 5 with Professor Fernandez (Fall 2025).

Searching for Articles on Library's Homepage

1. Go to the library catalog:

2. Enter keywords describing your topic.  

For example:

  • African Americans and voting rights 
  • elections and representation 
  • social movements and minorities 

3. Be sure to check book locations.  Some books are located in the ARS (Automated Retrieval System) and you need to request them, while some are in the stacks on the lower level of the library by call number.  

 


When a book is physically in the library. The location will show University Main Stacks or ARS 

 

To select only eBooks. Use the Filter on the left side of the screen. 

When it's an eBook the location will show "Online" and a link is provided to view the eBook 

 

Use the "Articles" tab on the Library Catalog for Broad Searching
