This is a multipart interactive tutorial that introduces students to scholarly journals and the peer review process. It also introduces two other types of periodicals that students often find articles from using major library databases, like OmniFile and Academic Search Complete. These are described as commentary/opinion magazines and professional journals.
If you decide to assign this tutorial to your class, be sure to tell students to provide their email when prompted at the end of the tutorial in order to have their scores emailed to themselves. You can then ask students to turn in this email as proof that they have done the tutorial. As a matter of fact, letting your students know you will be collecting their scores can be an incentive to actually DO the tutorial in a more thoughtful way!
