The following streaming music databases are excellent sources for listening to Italian and Italian-American folk music, as well as commercial and classical music written or performed by Italian or Italian-American composers or performers.

This database contains music of all American ethnic groups and regions, from the Revolutionary War to the present. This is a good source to hear the music of Italian American immigrants.
Music Online: Smithsonian Global Sound for Libraries This link opens in a new window
This database contains a wide array of American ethnic and folk music, as well as traditional music from around the world. This is an excellent source for listening to Italian American folk music of the past, as well as rare historical recordings of folk music in Italy. The liner notes from the original recordings provide a wealth of information about the music and the performers one is listening to.

Containing contemporary music from around the world, this database is a good source for listening to popular Italian music of the last 50 years.
