General library information applicable to all engineering disciplines.

Not Just A House For Books

Libraries are adaptive cultural institutions that accommodate and reflect the changes in society and the community they serve. While you can absolutely still get physical books, we also have an extensive collection of ebooks, digital journals and articles, databases and streaming services

Research Support and Consultation

Finding Articles

  • Librarian are available to help you understand the complex process of finding relevant articles
  • We can do so by:
    • Helping you developing keywords to search with
    • Guiding you to relevant databases
    • Helping to identify other relevant articles or resources for your project
    • Tracking down citations and finding full-text sources

Research Consultations

  • The School of Engineering has a dedicated Subject Liaison librarian (Sophia Mosbe) who specializes in topics involving engineering, physics, computer science and physics.
  • In addition to the Applied Sciences Librarian, you can receive personalized, one-on-one support from any of our librarians. These consultations are a great way to get your research started - with information about useful databases and resources, insight into your research from a librarian perspective, etc.

Research Workshops

  • We want to help you develop relevant skills, so that you can be successful in the future - here at SCU or in the workplace.
  • These workshops include working with AI, learning how to start with python, learning about other library resources and services, etc.
